1.   As for the "status quo," it merely means the current state of affairs, which could as easily be good as bad.

2.   Depardieu is good as the bewildered yet determined Chabert and Ardant is even better as the conniving Rose.

3.   Diane Lane is good as his concerned mother, and Lopez is appealing as a teacher rooting for Jack's success.

4.   Dianne Wiest also is good as Sam's kind, agoraphobic neighbor, and Laura Dern shines as the conflicted foster mom.

5.   Epps, who was so good as a troubled medical student on "ER," seems to have problems finding the right big-screen role.

6.   Even his own parents didn't think he'd be any good as a politician.

7.   For me, the technological devices are only good as tools for telling the story.

8.   Gary Oldman's pretty good as ol' Ludwig van, though.

9.   George Dzunda, as a fellow teacher, is always good as Best Friend.

10.   Given the opponent, it was as good as any period this season for them _ with one exception: no goals.
